Before flashing a new ROM I always make a NAND backup; it restores everything like it was when I decide not to keep the new ROM. TB doesn't restore everything like it was, it doesn't backup my contacts, calender items and widgets in GoLauncher.
Also restoring certain system settings from TB may mess up your new ROM. I feel more secure making two backups, NAND and TB, just in case ;-) .
