[Question] MT6589 WCDMA not working

Hi,

I have N9500, whenevr i put 3G sim card in i get "internal error 28 XX", i can not get an active pdp context, the only way i can get the phone to connect is using GSM.

With the SIM inserted the APN and all settings are auto configured and look correct. I am trying to use this phone in the UK on vodafone. Any ideas what i should check?

The phone works perfectly with 2G sim, the phone does pick up that the vodafone SIM is 3G enabled and colours the signal strength indicator red

Hi Steve72, is just sharing, maybe you could install mobileuncle application then change band radio, test your network and gprs, change setting to wcdma preferred.

If doesn’t work, try to change your modem.img for the match one, this link will help:

But your phone must be rooted

If still doesn’t work, install different ROM version for your device with your own risk absolutly

WCDMA-IMT-2000 selected
WCDMA-PCS-1900 not sected
WCDMA-PCS-1800 not sected
WCDMA-PCS-1700 not sected
WCDMA-CLR-850 selected
WCDMA-800 selected
WCDMA-IMT-E-2600 not sected
WCDMA-GSM-900 not sected
WCDMA-1800 not sected
WCDMA-1700 not sected

Should i have a WCDMA 2100 option to use this phone in the uk?
