[Recovery] Mpie MP-S168!!!

Here is the custom recovery for MP-S168. One step closer to custom roms now.

I had problems just flashing this to the device. So make a backup with SPFlash and MTKTools (search a how-to if you have no clue) and then replace your NONmodified_recovery.img with this one and then reflash these files:
ANDROID (system.img)
BOOTIMG (boot.img)
RECOVERY (recovery.img)

I will have a Flashable DEODEXED & ZIPALIGNED "system.img" That automatically removes all .odex files from the apps/framework/priv-app folders up in the next few days, just bare with me.

Now i need to learn how to hard theme the settings.apk and framework-res.apk and we would be good to go with something that actually LOOKS like a Galaxy S5!! But I'm not there yet.

I have been able to successfully install Adrenaline Engine 4.5 (not the CM version).

I have also successfully installed eXtremeBeats Muses!!

i got it to work thanks. BTW you only need to flash the recovery.img no need for android and boot

You are welcome.

For your information so you dont think the recovery flashed wrong, MOUNT USB doesnt work, yet. Unless someone can get into it and adjust it.

And i only said all 3 of those images because I had the deodexed/zipaligned system.img and a few times flashing recovery and system was giving me a black screen so i installed all 3 at once. Worked like a charm everytime.

Hello Bel. What Android do you have? 4.2? This should be pretty easy to root. Try this one first, it's the easiest... Just DL the latest one and install the apk on your phone. Then tap all 3 and see if it's successful... If not, report back here and then we move to the next step.

Hello cbrightman1980, im sorry but this was just a flashable file for cwm to make you rom run a little faster. this is NOT the Adrenaline ROM.would be nice if that was somehow ported. But no matter how many times i try to port ANYTHING, it fails.

i used Kingo Root (need a PC). it took a little while, but rooted perfectly. Any my s168 is 4.4.2 also, so i KNOW it works.

UPDATE 2!!

So I have been busy with school, and in all the commotion, I crashed my laptop. I lost the deodexed files. I am very sorry to disappoint. But if you search on google for "kitkat deodexer" you can do it too. Unfortunately i uninstalled some apps and reinstalled others, so idk if its "minimal" enough for anyone.
Also on that note, I have been trying to port some mk6572 roms, but they always fail. and most of the roms out there for 6572 are android 4.2.2. so i think that is why it fails (im not a developer so i have no idea if thats true). I noticed that the system/lib/models are all gone but wlan.ko and that is 0.00kb. Just some info for developers that want to help. I have no clue where these modules are, but they are needed for porting.

Great, I appreciate your effort , really helped me a lot and I finally have the modified recovery . Could you give me a backup of the rom and kernel , since I bought my phone on aliexpress and everything is modified to display false information and I would love to have the original cell .
