SO I bought this tablet from Ali Express
Its not as advertised; its supposed to have a octa core mt6752, 64gb, and a 2560x1600 display.
It only has an MT6735, 12gb and a 960x600 screen.
Disappointed yes, surprised not really. Im pushing for a full refund.
It comes preloaded with Antutu thats been rigged. It doesnt show the real stats, its fixed to show what the seller wants. Same with the Android system, it lies.
Ive verified my suspicions with "CPU-z" and "System Info for Android".
odd things; -Antutu lies
when you boot up, the frist thing you see is a 4G logo (like this logo - http://tinyurl.com/cbuhds8)(but not any of their devices)
then you see a Xiaomi logo, but also a SnapDragon logo!
I tried to boot into recovery, and scared myself; its only in chinese!!!!
Ive been spending alot of time trying to figure out who or what make it is. The system says Xiaomi. But from all my sleuthing its anything but. The only real clue I have found is what I plug it in via usb to my desktop, is comes up as LTE716. Ive tried looking for all the various info given on the screen shot (link below)
I have tried looking at specific parts, and the only thing I can find out is the radio (cell) chipset is used in a bluboo x550.
Ive tried to use the IMEI number to find the maker..... no such luck.
Its taken me a week or more to figure out how to get it to enter debugging mode (really get it recognized by the computer, I know about Dev Options, I have a nexus 7 2012 ). And even then its not a simple click, toggle. It has a "connect as cd-rom" option, and you have to toggle that first, then switch to MTP....
For the life of me I cant get it to be identified by any of the tool kits. The best I can do is get it to be identified by Pdanet. But only barely; I enable usb debugging and MTK Droid Tools doesnt "see" it.
Im looking for help getting it connected to my computer so I can make a backup before trying to unlock and root it.
on the plus side; it has a radio, it has a micro usb slot, and its faster than my nexus 7, its old and tired. It never has worked well.....
Cheers!
