Hello all!
I am new in the forum but have owned one of these little gems for about 8 months now.
All smooth up until now, sadly few weeks ago the phone started to behave weirdly. At first it would restart itself every now and then for no reason, and after few more days it became more and more frequent. Finally it happens every few hours or less depending on usage (for example if using a sat nav system like Google Navigator or Waze it would typically happen after 30 minutes) and then it tries to restart but it generally takes few tries and I have to take the battery out and back in for it to work again.
From further testing the phone freezes in these two scenarios:
A) When using it intensely for a period of time, usually 15 - 30 minutes. As an example if I use Waze (Waze is a Satellite Navigation Software) for 20 minutes or so the phone will freeze, and struggle to reboot for the next 10 or 15 minutes.
B) If I slightly press the area located at the back of the phone where the GPS chip is installed, close to where the battery connections are. This seems to happen consistently. The phone restarts itself after few seconds and carries on working until A) or B) happen again.
I currently have the Build v3_inew_v1.0.8_GPS_Fix_MNShop.cz, although it started to fail with v1.0.3, so I don't think it is ROM related.
See attached a picture of the part that will make the phone freeze if pressed slightly. This seems to be consistent, but also freezes during heavy use (gaming, watching video continuously, using sat nav software, etc...).
Has anybody come across of something like that or do you think that warranty would be the only solution in this case?
