Ubuntu on M6589 yet?

Are there any people out there who have had success installing ubuntu on their M6589 based phones yet?

As far as I know, the [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] app for Android is only available for Nexus series. There are some apps on which you can install [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] and [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]. But given the phones on this forum, I don't think it will run very smooth. Anyone ever tried one of those apps?

Ubuntu Touch should be out at the end of this year so hopefully someone will port it.

Getting Ubuntu to work on my TF201 was a pain so I gave up

I tried ubuntu touch both on a Gnexus and on a Droid RAZR, and I can say that it's pretty useless at the moment. I mean, it works, but it's not for daily use. So I think that anyone who would port it should start working when a stable and full-working build is released.

I had tried both on my MTK6589 N9389 phone. Why wouldn't it run smooth?
It's perfect, i haven't got neither one lag, and everything performed fast and smooth.

I really don't think that a version of ubuntu will be available for mtk65xx
it's not available for all version of arm processor
