HomTom HT3 Pro review
Ladies & gentlemen … I'm proud to present to you one of the latest CHEAPER & PERFORMANT chinese device launched on April 2016 in the global market :
The HOMTOM HT3 PRO
$83 HomTom HT3 [email protected]
Above all, it represents a decent compromise between low price and good efficiency.
Its MAIN FEATURES (I will go over in more details later) are the next :
This is the back side of the package :
And this is the contents of the package :
The first thing that stuck out to me was the DESIGN of the phone :
1) rounded corners
2) curved glass screen
3) slim
You can verify it with your own eyes in the next 2 pics :
When I have removed the back cover to inspect inside the phone ... I saw this :
That is a detail of the 3 slots (the two microSIM slots & the TF card slot) :
And this is the battery :
This is the Home Screen (it's an animated background ... the "Swarovski swan" turn around over and over again) :
A thing that impressed me was the good quality of the pictures taken with both rear & front cameras. The next picture was taken with rear camera :
And the next picture was taken with front camera :
CPU
There are some previews/reviews on the net that have claimed 1.3 GHz of max clock speed ... but it is not absolutely true ! The REAL max clock speed is of 988.0 MHz. Before affirming it ... I have made 5 different test with the next 5 different apps :
"CPU Monitor", "System Monitor" (by Christian Göllner), "System Monitor" (by Daniele Comi), "CPU X" and "AIDA64". They all agreed to confirm a max clock speed of 988.0 MHz :
Despite the low max clock speed frequency ... I can assure you that the phone is surprisingly fast.
There is not much difference between the HOMTOM HT3 PRO (Quad Core 988.0 MHz) and my Ecoo E04 Plus (Octa Core 1.7 GHz) ... trust me.
CPU-Z & AnTuTu Benchmark :
The unexplainable phenomeno about FALSE INFORMATIONS ???
"CPU-Z" & "AnTuTu Benchmark" are the most famous and most reliable apps to obtain detailed informations about your phone ... that's what I thought until today. But when I have installed them ... I made a terrible discovery : wrong informations !
You really need to see this for yourself (red arrows & yellow arrow) :
Now I can understand why some writers has claimed 1.3 GHz of max clock speed into their previews/reviews ... it wasn't all lies ... it wasn't their fault.
I do not want to accuse "CPU-Z" & "AnTuTu Benchmark" to be unprecise ... probably these apps are incompatible with HOMTOM HT3 PRO. However, I have decided to do not use these apps to obtain detailed informations and the points average score.
SYSTEM - OS - MEMORY DETAILS
The following screenshots, in a particularly detailed fashion, show you the essential informations about the phone :
RAM - GPU - DISPLAY DETAILS
To verify the technical details, I have used 4 different apps ( "DevCheck", "Screen Resolution v1.0", "Display Tester Pro" and "CPU Hardware and System Info" ). Please see following screenshots. In the first screenshot ( "DevCheck" ) you can also see the technical specifications about RAM :
CAMERA DETAILS
You can ascertain with your own eyes that the genuine specifications of the back/front cameras are like in the next screenshots :
SENSORS DETAILS
You can verify all the sensors and their technical details in the next screenshots :
GPS DETAILS
Tested with "GPS Test Plus". The GPS works fine ... you can verify it with your own eyes :
BATTERY DETAILS
It is quite good. Above all, there is no sign of battery overheating (it is stable on 25ºC ). Tested with GSam Battery Monitor Pro. Please see the screenshots above. If you see "Battery History (6h 38 min 14s)" it is because I have installed the apk 6h and 38 min ago ... but I have recharged my battery to 100% ... and then I have started the monitoring at 9:03 PM :
ENGINEER MODE - HOW TO
In order to gain access to the Engineer Mode, you have to compose the next sequence on the Dialer :
*#*#3646633#*#*
Please see the next screenshot :
The Engineer Mode screen will be automatically opened when you will have compose the last symbol of the sequence *
CONCLUSION
In my view, you could not find anything better within the range of the budget phones ... think more about it
