I agree (mostly ) with what you said, but I do not thing that the SoC is specify a high end brand or a high end phone. MTK's chips has some cons but they are cheep and they are powerful.
So if you want a cheep and a power phone you should stay with those MTK chips.
Otherwise you should pay $300-400 for the phone you are describing.
In that case probably you will not be able to buy it.

iNew V3 it is a nice phone. All of us (I think) we bought it because, first, of his design and then because of its specs.
At least me, I wouldn't buy it if it looks like a samsung phone.

I'm not saying Qualcomm is the best and no one can beat it and I'm not saying that mediatek chips are weak or anything (although the fact that these two companies are the only active ones and no one else is willing show up in the game and compete with them, is really sad) ,
Mediatek is the best in the low price market. But they are a big no to open source developments. That means you can't get anything more than what the device offers out of the box on mtk phones.
I think every company must have a flagship device . A device that can compete with other brands high end smartphones. No matter what the price tag will be it will find it's customer. ( of course it's gonna be more expensive than their entry level or mid range level smartphones, but they can still put a competitive price tag on it.)
There shouldn't be just entry or midrange level smartphones for a company..
People upgrade their gadgets every year..

As i read this i just have to comment about the flash issue... someone suggested putting some baking paper (the white paper you put on the tray in an oven so things wont stick- its half opaque so light goes through) on the flash and close the cover to avoid the yellow colour effect of the led in the shot. It works perfect. However low a solution it is i dont open the case hardly ever soo doesnt effect me. And it solved it. If you have this then give it a go. I was shocked it worked lol.

Anyway this was my first impression when they first said the magic word "kit-kat" that they will dump the JB update for good and make a KK one.
