ROM PORTING - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

NOTE: There are no refunds. I will do my best to port the ROM for you, but can not guarantee success.

I have decided to open this thread because I received numerous requests for help.

Please keep in mind the following points :

1) I will never tell you about porting method.

It is because there is no single method to port a rom.
Often it needs to use your creativity and your intuition to reach the target.

2) I am not a female magician.

I am a beginner, I am NOT an expert.
I am a school girl, I am NOT a teacher.

If you have any questions about the right choice between different roms.
If you have any doubt about the compatibility of the rom that you have chosen to port. Feel free to ask me. I will do my best to help you.

Thank you very much first for making such a great thread.
I have a HTC Desire 820s which is mt6752 running on lollipop and I tried to port CM 12.1 from Ulefone betouch 2 also mt6752.
This is what I did:
I extracted both boot.img and copied boot-img-kernel from STOCK to PORT and then edited build.prop for correct resolution.
The ROM can boot into the system and everything works perfectly except:
SIM, Bluetooth, USB and camera.
Is there a way to fix these issues?
And I would like to know if it's possible to donate via Neteller.

Too many bugs ... very serious bugs.
I got some question for you ... very important questions :

1) What operating system are you running (Windows or Linux) ?
2) Did you replace ONLY "boot.img-kernel" & "boot.img-kernel_offset" ?
3) Your HTC Desire 820s has 2 lib folders (lib & lib64) or only 1 lib folder ?
4) Ulefone Be Touch 2 has 2 lib folders (lib & lib64) or only 1 lib folder ?

If both "HTC Desire 820s" & "Ulefone Be Touch 2" have same number of lib folder/folders,
at first, please try to port the Ulefone Be Touch 2 stock rom.
In my view, it is better to start with the simplest tasks.
Keep in mind that the Cyano does not have the Engineer mode.

Thank you very much for your response.
I am running windows 7 OS.
Yes for boot.img I only replaced boot.img-kernel & boot.img-kernel_offset and build.prop for system
My phone has both lib and lib64 just like ulefone. I have tried to port the stock ROM as well but I still get the same bugs

In my view, Win 7 is the best solution for porting jobs.
Even though, the very best solution is the concomitantly use of Linux & Windows.

It is not enough replace ONLY "boot.img-kernel" & "boot.img-kernel_offset".
The most important folders are "etc", "lib" and "lib64".
You have to make some changes into "etc" folder.
You have to make some changes into "lib" folder and "lib64" folder.
I suggest you to take my advice :
At first, try to port the stock rom of "Ulefone Be Touch 2".
It is necessary to test the compatibility between your phone and the Ulefone.

I have just ported the stock ulefone ROM to Desire 820s and now bluetooth is working and IMEI shows invalid, cm12 used to be blank, so I am getting close Big Grin

, but unfortunately it cannot mount internal storage. Is there a way I can fix it?
Camera still does not work but I believe I can fix it with replacing the libs Tongue

At first, I suggest you to work to fix the IMEI and camera on stock ported rom.
There are many custom roms on Needrom for Ulefone Be Touch 2.
I suggest you to try Miui, Flyme and Vibe.
