(This post was last modified: 2014-09-12, 03:43 by JoshMcMadMac.)
My wife has dropped her DG800 hard, several times. She has managed to damage it such that the screen works erratically, sometimes not accepting swipes and sometimes doing things on its own. I believe the issue is the digitizer, is that a safe assumption? I see replacements available for ~$20, but how hard is it to replace?
I posted this in the Doogee specific forum...was it moved for some reason?

Well Doogee was very quick to get back to me, which is good. They told me to send it back to the seller to have it sent back to Doogee to have it repaired, which is not a cost effective solution. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions for disassembling this phone? I have pulled phones apart before, but they are all different. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Replacing the digitizer is not a fun task. Typically its glued to the frame. You will need some sort of industrial heat gun or a hair drier may suffice.
Then a suction cup to pull it away.
If that fails, you will need to crack the glass and pull it away bit by bit. Being extremely careful not to damage the LCD underneath.
That's from the front. You will need to open it up from the back as well so you can detach the ribbon from the old digitizer and plug the new one.
