Have always used ES Explorer. Just what I'm comfortable with and never found a need to change.

There are NONE better than this; if you have root you can; backup, install, uninstall any app system or otherwise, work inside system with files/permissions/copy/paste; there is NOTHING you can not do with this app. Plus it has updates on occasion and those always make it better working. Choice of many types of views also..

Me too. It has everything I need. I used every other file manager but since I found it years back, I never used another file manager.

The best is RootExplorer simple interface but powerful option changing permission/ownership zip/ unzip , it is always my first install on my rooted device to delete/ move/rename/edit files n app

What I like about RootExplorer is that the R/W permissions are right at the top. Single tap turns on R/W.

I use ES Explorer, but the R/W permission is hidden. You need to tap menu, open Tools, turn on Root, then long press and release the Root bar, then go to permissions and set R/W. Not a big deal if doing it once and you already know about it, but for users new to ES Explorer, it's not readily apparent what needs to be done.

Does rootexplorer support .rar and LAN navigation?

i use fx+/fx#(root) to do the copy n paste for editing the rom that i port from other rom.

the reason is that, u can hardly make a mistake when u want to change the permission of the file.

u can split two windows and view both windows at the same time to compare files that u should change

Except making ftp server, all the above are also implemented in X-plore, and also ftp client, webdav, dropbox, picassa, App manager, SSH file tranfer, WiFi file share, much powerfull but simple UI and low memory consuption
