Brainstorming over the weekend and finally fixed the NFC antennae problem. I dare not to pull out the pins as some friends here already broke them. I've taped 2 small aluminium foil strips on the backcover so as to add some thickness there. And voila! The device now works perfectly.

Fortunately mine works ok, but will have it in mind if it happens in the future.

Maybe I will ask you a silly question, but did you know that there is another "click" point close to the NFC connector and you need to press it there for better contact of the NFC antenna?
This I think will solve the NFC problem.

I pressed on the point which has a label says "press softly" (in Chinese) on the cover and it works, but there is no click sound and I need to keep pressing the point to get NFC works.

This NFC fix is practical and easy to implement, I'm getting this done tonight

I think this will highly improve the contact points and guarantee that the NFC/GPS antenna will not be a bottleneck in the troubleshooting process. I love it!

Thanks for your effort. Pushing the back cover solved the issue in my case
