[Innos D6000] root gapps temporary TWRP custom recovery how to tutorial guide
#61
Hi all

Just few words to this tutorial..

1. Unlock Innos D6000 Bootloader and enable USB debugging

1-7 all good

2. 2. Run temporary TWRP and install gapps/root/permanent TWRP

7. Type "fastboot OEM unlock-go" -> "fastboot oem unlock-go" don't know why but the command with capital letters doesn't work for me.

* after this command my phone reboot (was on V 2.7) and starts in Chinese , so again whole process Smiling but next time was fine.

8. Type "run_test.bat"

* This point was nightmare done this couple times but each time i was getting "no device found"
* I've checked drivers/all good/ reinstal them but still the same, the device was recognized correctly, after a PC reboot all went fine, so i'm assuming you should add to point 1 "Install auto adb drivers, and reboot your pc" Smiling

and the command "fastboot reboot" it's helpful when user (like me) doing this first time ever and stuck somewhere, and start panic ;)

Hi. Since 2 days i am a new owner of this phone. First i follow your thread to get root. It works, thanks.

Now my Questions:

1. I could'nt restore my apps with titanium backup. Is this a known error? Any suggestion?
2. I also install TWRP (permanently) With my other Phones (Samsung, Lenovo k3) i never have problems to backup via TWRP. But on this Phone now, i couldn't make a simple nandroid backup.
My used TWRP 5.1.1_TWRP_2870_EN_Innos_D6000
3. Also downloaded Updates diff.zip do not work.

At least it was my fault. In this version of TWRP was the option to safe ABOOT. But it do not work. Without this marked it works like a charm.

Hi I am new here,

I wanted to share my experience "rooting" this Innos D6000 phone. I just got it so wanted to make the most it.

I went through hell trying to root it, but eventually I could do it. This is for people who are still struggling with it.

I would recommend that after trying everything and thinking it is an issue of drivers, I'd like to tell them that I solved this problem installing those drivers (Innos D6000) and the Universal PDA Driver (for android) . Just in case I did the whole lot.

But the main thing here is to connect the cable to another USB port (preferrably one at the back of the PC) this way my PC could find the phone connected to it and had no problems in executing the Run_test.bat batch file. I could get into the temporary TWRP and just look for the zip file to root the phone.

In the beginning I thought I needed a USB 3.0 port because of the cable, but that has nothing to do with the connection to be recognised, a USB port at the back will do (because this might be free according to the PC) and install all the drivers while the phone is connected to that port.

I am on "Android 5.1.1 v2.3_abroad" now but I have found some issues with the sound, normally when I try to listen to the radio online or some other app that broadcasts sound or music, that app will shut down while the screen is off I dont know (for now) how to solve this, but that's another issue that has (I hope) nothing to do with rooting.

Thanks you all for reading this much :=)

It is newer and most of the default programs updated. I had problems with the older rom with radio (difficulty in keeping stereo sound while changing stations) and the alarm clock did NOT work some times!! There are also other bugs mentioned in 2.3_abroad regarding network. All these bugs are shorted out in this multilanguage firmware, all chinese is gone also, along with the camel china-boot logo. It is a European version. Check the above post by stevejc for more, instructions to update.

This rom is the best IMO. It is totally different than 2.3_abroad, perhaps with less stuff around, it is more like an aosp android, with different launcher (with app drawer, lagg-free).
But all the useful default apps are there, and they have a LOT better functionality.

Try it! Follow instructions by stevejc and don't forget to reset your phone after you install it, otherwise this update will not work. Hence you will need an app backup before.

This rom is totally different, it should not be called an update...

Hello ! Thanks for replying ! As far as the problem with the sound goes when the screen turns off is solved !! Thanks !

Now, strange enough, not being very happy with android 5.1.1 v2.3_abroad, I am now on the newest v3.3 eng. Everything was fine and smooth till I discovered that the default email app has a bug and I cannot enter settings after I set up an email account. I am really tired of these bugs and I just want a ROM that just works well, I dont think it is too much to ask for. Now I dont even mind if it is in english only. As far as this bug goes, I have tried another emal app but does not do the same job meaning that eg. hotmail accounts are not set up the same way (as in Exchange) as on my previous mobile (I get late notification of emails - it lacks the "push" intelligent option)

On the other hand you are pointing me to v2.3 but the European / Russian version. You seem to like it a lot and speak very highly of it. I dont mind small bugs, I can live with some, but the email account set up is very important for me.

Anyways, I am ready to go back to the European/Russian 2.3 one but I dont know whether I can go back to an old version. Do you think it is possible ? I dont think than can be done via recovery (that's the method I have been using). I guess it would have to be through PC, right ?

Please just guide me through this a little, just to point me in the right direction then I will do the rest, whether I have to flash it one way or another.

By the way, it you know (or someone does) a way of solving the bug mentioned above regarding the default email app in v3.3 it would be even better, as I have no other complaints with v3.3 so far.

Thanks !

..."first flash with QFIL tool from a PC the old version v2.3_abroad" he says.
So, first you have to PC flash your innos with QFIL tool I guess. Then update with 2.3 en/ru version using normal update from zip menu, not recovery.
I am sure stevejc or other guys here can help you more with flashing back to an older version. The update procedure is pretty much simple after you get at 2.3_abroad. I myself has not PC flashed my phone yet, I was in 2.2_abroad when I bought it, did an OTA update to 2.3_abroad and now updated to this excellent rom!

You should make a backup using custom recovery before you start, as always. And remember to reset your phone after you install the update, otherwise it will be totally dysfunctional.

Hmm, I haven't used this app, I only use gmail app. Let me try and test it...

Update: Tested the default email application, set up one account, then went to settings, it works fine in 2.3 I use. BUT I cannot remove my account! I push remove account, it does nothing!

Let me ask you something about 3.3: Is it like 2.3_abroad or different? I mean does it have the same launcher, apps and everything or it is totally different?

Hi again !

I have already done the downgrade, going from v3.3 to the one you said it is good, v2.3 europe (I followed all the instructions, yours and stevejc) and I have the same problem here, we cannot remove the email account once created.

Yes I have also found that problem with the default email app on 2.3 Europe the new one. If you want to remove your account you will have to go to Apps > ALL >> Email and clear data, after that disable the app. Enable it again and you have your default email app good as new.

As I am already on 2.3 european version. (I did it last night) I find it nice. So far no bugs except the one mentioned above but I still cant get the emails from my hotmail account at the same time, which means I have a 5 minutes interval waiting time from one check to another (sync). That did not happen in my old mobile, it is old but effective. I will give it a try for a few more days I will see how it goes.

You are asking me about v3.3 eng. It is not that different from v2.3_abroad, but it really feels different. The setup screen has a different layout, not that different but if is much more simple I guess. The launcher I believe is the same, it is simple too but where I really find the difference is that this new v3.3 is almost lag free, it is very fast and I liked that about it. I found that the radio has a true stereo option, I saw on other ROMs that the option was there but it did not change to stereo.

On the whole it is not that different but it really FEELs different, you think it is a snappier mobile. Shame about that default email app that keeps shutting down when I want to get into account settings. If it was not for the email app I would have stayed on v3.3 eng.

I might go now upto v2.5 (I have read in other forums that it is a good one too). I will keep trying and flashing till I get the right one for me.

Thanks for your help !!

Thanks for the info. 2.3_abroad was very laggy.
Did you find 3.3 snappier than 2.3 en multi?
