[Innos D6000 review] Running review of the Innos D6000
#1
The Innos D6000 isn't what you'd call a slick or stylish mobile. Indeed it's a chunky 13mm. That's alright, this phone is all about specs and battery.

Even though the phone isn't so suave, it's still boasts some impressive materials. The back piece, according to Innos is GE Lexan EXL1414. This plastic is extremely durable, shrugs off finger prints, and stays looking brand new all the time.

From GE Lexan
Quote: LEXAN EXL1414 polycarbonate (PC) siloxane copolymer resin is a medium flow opaque injection molding (IM) grade. This resin offers extreme low temperature (-40 C) ductility in combination with excellent processability and release with opportunities for shorter IM cycle times compared to standard PC. LEXAN EXL1414 resin is a product available in wide range of opaque colors and may be an excellent candidate for a wide variety of applications.

The packaging is top notch, coming in a thick, heavy duty box. Included in the box is the Innos D6000 mobile, a warranty card, a small manual, an orange heavy gauge type-C USB 3.1 cable, and a formidable looking 2A charger.

Though the packaging is top notch, that doesn't necessarily mean the main product will match it. Indeed, some of the best phones I've reviewed have come in simple brown boxes a la Xiaomi Redmi 2 or Lenovo N3 Note.

Still, it's a sign that the brand at least wants to put on a good face, and we will soon see whether the phone lives up to its packaging.

I'll have more on the Innos D6000 review tonight. Please post comments, questions, things you want tested and I'll do my best to get to it.

Thanks for your effort. Really excited for this device! However, I am coming from the Blu Studio Energy and 2 of my biggest annoyances are: lack of LTE and a menu button that cannot be swapped to a recent apps button.

All the shops like gearbest, pandawill, lightinthebox, etc. Say that FDD-LTE B7 is available but it is not listed on the packaging. So I'm curious to see whether or not LTE would work here in Canada on Rogers. Could you speak more about the cell service and what provider you're using and the coverage?

Also, maybe I'm spoiled by the recent apps button of the Oneplus One, but I HATE the menu button. I never use it but rely on recent apps. I really do hope there is a way to change that.

There should be a way to change soft button function in the key config file if rooted.

Regarding frequency support, you're correct, on the box shows B1/B3 for LTE, 2100 WCDMA and 900/1800 GSM. On their official spec page it shows much wider frequency support.

Qualcomm makes it extremely difficult to discover what bands software supports. With MTK its very simple to at least determine which its supporting at the moment (by disabling frequencies one by one).

Unfortunately I'm in an area with 2100 WCDMA and 1800 GSM. 850 WCDMA is covered here too, but impossible to determine which frequency am connected on.

See this thread where Will is having a problem connecting to LTE (I believe in UK). Not a good sign. [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

I'd advise anyone considering this phone to hold off on D6000 unless they're covered by the frequencies mentioned above.

I hope someone will come along and give us an easy and lower risk root method. That would definitely open up more options for soft button customization. Not very hopeful about it though.

We'll see about B7 FDD-LTE in about a week when I get my device.

Don't worry man. Root Innos D6000 is almost a given. Someone will build CWM or TWRP. Flashing it isn't really risky or difficult.

feedback on the official website seems to point to heat issues when the d6000 is used heavily... can you test that too Gizbeat please?

No problem Tommy. I will get back to you this week regarding heat issues with Innos D6000. It will be one of the first things I test.

Im 90% sure this phone will do it for me, but just seeing what's the cons after some heavy use testing.

Im currently using the samsung note 3 which is a few years old but might still be faster than the d6000... in terms of real life usage... over the years, ive gone from hd gaming and running 100s of background services, to no simple games and a hand full of background services but lots of web surfing with heaps of tabs and browsers open.

Hopefully the sd615 cpu will handle the web browsing, flash websites and videos, and some background apps, without any lags... on the plus side, the 3gb of ram should handle the multitasking and dozens of browser tabs fine just like old note 3.

rooting the d6000 will surely allow us to remove any bloat ware apps and freeze system services that are not required.

cant wait for your updates!

I was a HTC one user as my HTC became old i thought let me try a chinese brand phone, Last week i got this phone from GEARBEST.COM and let me also share my experience, I bought this phone on presale and shipment took nearly 15 days to reach my hand .if i have mentioned anything wrong please kindly correct it friends.

In the beginning i had minor hiccups like google Playstore vanished automatically , Then i resetted the phone to factory setting , to get the max battery life i drained out the battery to the full then charged it to maximum. after doing these two steps , I havnt tried to root my phone yet.

Pros:
* Phone is really working awesome without any problem ,
* I live in Dubai and innos d6000 is working fine with LTE
* Battery is a real monster and really last long,
*Quick charging as 2 Amps charger is included
* New Type-C 3.1 usb cable for fast data transfer,
* I dont feel like i am using a chinese phone bcos the build quality is really good.
* Camera results are exceptional as its using big cam sensor for low light performance
* There is a live record in FM radio so we can record our favourite music lively
* Full HD screen resolution is really smooth and very good
* very good voice reception and wifi signal
* I dont have any heating issue while playing games.
* Useful hotkey button
Cons:
* I feel GPS signal is bit weak
* Phone is bit thick and heavy because of huge batteries
* Other than quick charger no other accessories are included
* No proper operating manual included

Got this phone through gearbest as well. Received in 3 days. (Selected express delivery for a nominal fee)
Bought this mostly because of the battery life and I must say I am not disappointed at all. Lasted me 2 and a half day without charging. My usual usage consists of mainly calls, messaging, browsing and occasional games.
No problem with using 4G/LTE in my location (SG/LTE 1800).
No restart issues though so far. Did notice the phone gets warm when playing games.
I did reset to factory settings before use as its my usual practice for new phones.
No root method found so far
