How to root Star S5 Mtk 6589

no my location service dont work..but if ı install gapps ıt mybe work...

So it's missing in the base rom - yeah, gapps would probably solve it (or even just the networklocation.apk).
Any way I still can't install the mt65xx preloader - I really don't know how to do it, it's killing me because when the phone is on - I can see the information with mtk droid tools - even created a scatter file (just to compare) but when I turn it off for the actual flash - it's unrecognizable

ın recovery dont use power button use touchable white button under the screen.follow (.... are Chinese characters )
..SD...ZİP....enter
...SD2.....ZİP.......enter
after that you will see the files in sd card and select supersu file and enter and ıt will flash it thats all..

Thank you, I managed to do that - and I got rooted - though I didn't manage to get the Google Location to work... (by pushing networklocation.apk) to the system/app

and ı opened location access from settings and ıt worked for me..

I will try it now - downloading the GAPPS.
by the way, where did you get the google.android.location.apk from? and did you put it there with a file manager (like ex file explorer)? changed any permissions?

I need to know how many times I have to click in the vol and power buttons to select a file to update in recovery mode because my cellphone dont show images in display, due to a bad root instalation process. Can be in video or a simple text. thanks.
