Thank you very much for replying
IMEI number is found in the phone - the same for both SIM card (but it is not the same as the number on the sticker in the phone).
At the same time, no network service found - although it detected the SIM card company (e.g. Optus).
I am in Australia. I wonder if this is caused by modem/radio problem?
due to flashing incomptible ROM?
Your advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This phone now is showing:
GSM MODE. - EGSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, GSM850
UMTS MODE - WCDMA-IMT-2000, WCDMA-CLR-850, WCDMA-800
But in Singapore and Australia need to have the following WCDMA frequencies (???)
SingTel
Singapore
900 / 2100
Optus
Australia
900 / 2100
So will it work? Anyone?

Yes. It will work but only one band, 2100. The wcdma IMT 2000 is the 2100

It is puzzling to me that the IMEI is not null and I have no signal.
CDS Info in Engineering mode also shows that Radio State is ON and SIM state is READY.
Yet i cannot connect to any mobile provider.
However, I am not able to attach or detach from GPRS.
Is it that my IMEI is wrong????
Where else do i have to look?
any idea?

Unfortunately i don't have NVRAM backup.
As far as SIM tray is concerned, it might be unlikely cos this is a dual SIM phone - chance of both breaking down at the same time probably lesser.
I realised thatI don't have any EFS folder in my root directory like those posts which i have read.
Does this mean that my NVRAM is corrupted?
I can find nvram folder under /system/data through.
by the way, what can a stock ROM do?
Will it help to fix WCDMA-900 issue?
thanks for taking the time to answer my newbie questions so far, much appreciated.
