Good android Phones wcdma 850/1900
#31
Well update. Mlais mx65 does not have 1900mhz. According to the factory. They want me to return the device for a mx89t pro but the battery issues make me want to second guess that. The thl t11 looks interesting though. It will be hard to get my money back so think I'll either keep the device or trade in for the 69t pro.

One of the returns came in finally after 1 month. The other package is apparently lost so I got to contact USPS and see what happened.

Well it looks like thl t11 is the good android phone with 850/1900mhz.

My phone Specs list below, As far as I know it is accurate, my phone is much cheaper than yours so most likely can't compare the two phones. However everything works well on this phone, I feel I got a great deal, I have listed all the phones I have owned or currently own, as far as price this is by far the cheapest phone I have ever owned, at the same time it is the best, in performance, battery life, feel, looks, price, just a great phone, that out performs the hundreds if not into a thousand dollars I have spent on smart phones, for family as well as myself.

I look forward next year of maybe buying even a more high end phone from china, I chose these phones mainly on price, I haven't bought any phones before except through a phone carrier, in my case sprint.

My thinking buy two cheap phones to test the water, worst case I would be out $200 about the price of 1 cheap phone state side, but My Wife and I were both blown away by these phones, as well as friends and family who have since placed orders for these exact phones.

Anyway how would I check below specs, to see if phone is 850 and 1900? I can't test the 2100, I live in WV.

The specs you listed show only 2100mhz. You can check the bands with mobile uncle mtk tools if it is a mtk SoC.

it's listed as a MTK6582, I just now posted the entire specs above, Ok thanks I don't have WCDMA, Just GSM? I really don't know the difference, I get better phone service now then I have the past 5 years with Sprint.

I tried the tool shows also 900 for WCDMA so I guess mine is 900/2100 , Is there a forum or guide for mobileuncle-mtk-tools? there is enough adjustments in that tool to pretty much destroy a phone.

There is no 2100 only in USA. There is 1700/2100 (though they are currently refarming to 1900) on some T-Mobile where you need both (up/down). It means your phone will never be able to get 3G, regardless of what carrier or area you're in in USA. That is, assuming the specs you posted are correct.

If you can figure out Linux, you can figure out the basics of Mobile Uncle. A guide for the forum would be great. Thumbs Up

For this purpose: Engineer mode > Telephony > Bandmode

The specs are as far as I know correct, I use straight talk now, I guess in the past 5 years I never had 3G either or even 2G yet I paid $90 a month per phone for Sprint service.

I mainly use home wifi and hot spots, i got use to doing that with Sprint service, so have any service where I never had it before is a big improvement to me.

Next year or the year after that, I will get another phone that has more Bamdmodes, not sure they would doing any good in my area but worth a try.

mobileuncle-mtk-tools guide would be nice, really knowing where the setting are made, how to copy them and undo them, I think this is the tool one forum member has already messed up his phone with.

Ooh, interesting, I'd heard of the mobileuncle-mtk-tools but didn't know it could show the bands for the phone. I'll definitely have to check that out when my Ulefone U7 arrives. It is advertised as WCDMA 850/2100 which will work for me but 1900 would be nice AND the Ulefone site says 1900 is "optional"...yet I couldn't find it listed anywhere else and they haven't replied to me on Skype.

If you using straight talk you have either a t-mobile or At&t SIM. Tmobile uses 1700/1900mhz for 3g and at&t uses 850/1900mhz for 3g. Since your device has neither of those it is most likely using only 2g which is Edge.

I was googling around and I saw that you can check the 3g band that you are currently using by entering MTK Engineering mode either via mobileuncle mtk tools or the code in the dialer.

You goto Network Info" -> "3G CsceEMServCellSStatusInd" . You will see Band: #. In my case it said Band: 5 . Which is Operating Band 5 or 850mhz. Here is a list of the different Bands.

@Topic:

It turns out the Tainhe H8 I had ordered before. The 3g actually did have the 850/1900 bands. Just my sim card wasnt set up at the time. Wish I knew that before but now I'm $500 deep in other chinese device making me wish i would have just gotten a Note 3. XD

Thanks you, the Network Info" -> "3G CsceEMServCellSStatusInd" is very helpful, So my phone is only 2G is USA, that's ok good to know, I am learning more and more about the MTK phones.

Next year I will know more what to look for, but for a $100 I got a great hand held GPS unit.Big Grin
