| Xiaomi, the Chinese upstart manufacturer who have decided to give the big boys a run for their money is going retail in the US and some new European countries. The Xiaomi Mi stores will officially open in the US, UK, Germany and other parts of Europe on June 1st. According to Xiaomi these stores will mostly be based around selling accessories, but I wouldn't be surprised to find them eventually retailing their mobiles as well.  Many of the common folk have heard of Xiaomi in Western countries, but their presence is barely a ghost compared to manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple. The big move here is giving themselves a true retail presence. |
