Don't buy MEIZU Products !!! Dangerous and not fixable

Ignoring the GPL is common with chinese companies.. Even xiaomi doesn't comply with gpl. And we need not mention the hundreds of mediatek devices which are non gpl compliant Tongue They shouls but the don't.. But nothing much can be done about it as they are based in china.

Meizu's gpl compliance isn't going to help you debrick the device anyway..

i know i know this Smiling

I want say only that this is the company most closed i've seen.

Never seen a company that lock Fastboot.

I'll never buy another Meizu device in my life. In my opinion this is a Scam company.

Future will tell us....

Scam? How are they scamming you? You willingly messed with and bricked your own phone. Bootloaders and fastboot are locked for many phones and messing with them will brick you. HTC, Sony, and the list goes on and on. Are they all non-GPL compliant?

I'd say if you can't accept the consequences of messing with your phone, just don't do it.

@wolfgart,
Locked bootloaders are very common.. Some manufacturers let you unlock them but not all. People find alternative methods around them like the Bump! recovery system for LG G3.

If the company promised you an open loader with freedom to modify it like maybe Nexus (which i don't think meizu does) then you could call it a scam company.. [/i]

I would think the best option would be to get the device fixed from the company now that it has already bricked and as you say fastboot and sp tools don't work..
Unless there is a method like jtag or similar which works with the device..

i think Meizu could make public a signed package compiled using their secret key to flash on locked fastboot too.

A signed emergency package for reflash to Stock.

Could be simpliest solution for me and for all in the future should have a simple soft-brick situation, considering Meizu don't have a Desktop official tool like all others manufacturers too.

@wolfgart,
I would assume such a package would mean they would have to open up fastboot access.. Or spflash.. (cos you have already nuked your recovery)
Wonder if they will be willing to do that..

Btw was wondering which android manufacturer provides official desktop tools to recover bricks?

Oh I thiught you meant manufacturers released tools other than fastboot to recovery bricked devices..
Pretty sure none of those devices will let you write anything to the device before you use fastboot to unlock their bootloaders first..

Anyway all you can do is wait and see what Meizu is willing to do..

you have used the magic words "before you use Fastboot to unlock them"...

Using fastboot you can simply fix all partitions and restore your phone in 20 seconds. You can do this with all android phones on the market.

With Meizu devices not. Very bad

I will wait Meizu ....

@wolfgart,
Yes fastboot will let you restore everything ONLY if the bootloader is unlocked which Meizu doesn't seem willing to do. Otherwise it will not be able to do much even if the package is signed.

I thought you meant the manufactures had released tools which let you debrick with a locked bootloader..

on LG devices you 've allowed to write in Fastboot mode.

Check better, for LG G3 for example. For Samsung too...

You have to explain me WHY if i loose recovery YOU Meizu don't want make me boot with regular OS . WHY ?????????????????????????????????????????

The only one is Meizu
