Chinese phone brands

I bought a Flying F65 phone last year, and was really disappointed, it survived like 2 weeks before everything went wrong.
The battery lasted like 3 hours, and it got really hot.

Now I'm using a Star x26i which is great, but the GPS doesn't work.

How do I know what brands I can trust ?
What are the recommended chinese manufactors ?
