buy my first china phone and need help. coolgen mt6592

the price for my coolgen note 3 quad core was good but now it hard to find anything in english to help me root and then run clean rom. biggest issue is my sim card for the unlocked phone wont take. reads the sim updates apn's but wont find signal on two of my favorite carriers. att and tmoble not sure what the problem is at the moment but a clean english rom sounds like a good place to start. any help would be greatly appreciated.
