That's surprising. Are you sure the ADB drivers are correctly installed?Did you try the easy root in the other thread?

Hello,
Thank's for this tool , but
it did not work for my chinese phablet "Along" T700
(E-RAN fabricant) MTK 6577(hexing77_Jb) with factory Jelly Bean
Android 4.1.2 (JZ054K) , trying on XP PC, adb drivers from PDAnet.
I also used a lot of another root tools and drivers without success;
I try to have the Playstore fully installed on that tablet wich
is otherwise,a very good quality of fabrication.
I'll get you informed if i succed to root it some day.
Regards

If that doesn't work, I recommend you build your own CWM. It's not too difficult. Make sure to backup before flashing.

Thank's for your answer:
i am going to study that possibility of creating my own CWM.
I thought i had to get the tablet rooted to do a nandroid backup.
The Rey69's procedure seems interesting for me , because same chip and same version of Android.
regards

See the Yulypis tutorial, but use the ADB VCOM drivers from PDAnet (see stickies), they SHOULD install all required drivers for reading back your recovery. Rey69 may have used a different set of drivers altogether though. For now he's kept it a secret

Hi. As I had to uninstall any previous installed Android USB driver from my computer, and found MT6577 USB VCOM drivers (simply searching in google), I decided to install them instead of PDANet as I don't use this application. Probably PDANet drivers work without problems as well. I have attached the drivers I use for your convenience.
Regards

hello , no more secret then! About the choice beetwen adb interface drivers and VCOM drivers , i read that the first ones are usefull when one connect while the device is "on" and the VCOM when it is "OFF"
Perhaps both are usefull sometimes , but in the excellent pdf tutorial of Rey69,
the VCOM drivers only seem necessary, and that perhaps avoid conflicts beetween drivers.
Thank you very much for your answers ,Gizbeat and Rey69 ;
i keep studying what you wrote.
Sorry if my english is a bit faulty and if i answer not so quickly because of my others occupations.
Regards
