Man, this is crazy. I was just listening to a podcast with Alex Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, and part of the Hipmunk team.
Has anyone ever used this service? I like the idea of [this or anything really] being consumer-friendly with an intuitive interface. With the way the web is going, consumers are going to be hella more empowered in the future. The ones who cater the best to their customers are the ones who are going to win business. At least in my opinion.

It's a fairly tried and true business model. Treat the customer right and build a customer base over the long haul.
It's also interesting yahoo has managed to remain a player

You make a fair point. It seems like Yahoo has struggled to be just slightly behind the times at all times, but they're adapting just fast enough to consistently stay relevant and remembered.

They still have the market cornered for photographers with Flickr. Which actually feels a bit dated. It's surprising there's no other big players in that area. Though I guess it is a bit of a niche market.
EDIT: There are a couple, Zenfolio and smugmug, but lack many of the features of Flickr and honestly I had to google "Flickr alternatives" to even know about them.
