[Mod] Extra button : switch function to camera

I noticed that the extra button became useless when using another camera app.

To trigger the take of the picture to any camera app this what I done.

As root in /system/usr/keylayout/gpio-keys.kl change the line
key 249 FUNCTION
in
key 249 CAMERA
then reboot the phone

now the extra button trigger the take of the picture in any camera software.
By long press the button that turn on the original camera app and I want to change this behaviour to the camera app that I want: How do I do ?

Did it succefully by installing app [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] but I will prefer to do it without any app.

Good info. So now short press does what, and long press does what?

short press = camera button, long press = launch camera software or with home 2 shortcut launch the app you specified in the app.

Except when pour push "clear all" then it do the old behaviour until home 2 shortcut is used as home screen (Home 2 shortcut not running as a service )

Found a way to use it as camera button and as a launcher for any application for camera based on screen on and screen off.
I can take pictures with any camera software via the button. Launch my favorite camera software and/or do other stuff like launching an app, control music player, turn on and off flashlight.
You have to do the modification above,
Install xposed framework
reboot phone
dowload and install the module Physical Button Music Control
reboot phone
activate and custom the behaviour of the extra button as for vol +/- button.
