Hi everyone
I own a V8 plus and I have a problem with the camera:
the camera, when in its rear position, gives an upside down image on the LCD and in the resulting picture.
the camera works ok until you rotate it to the front and later to the rear position. if you do in this way image is upside down and no possibility to turn it until you restart the phone.
anyone else with V8 or V8 plus who experienced the same problem and found a fix?
let me know
thanks
Fausto

Which app are you using? You mean the stock camera app?

So, you are saying, when you first time start the camera app (after a reboot) it works ok until you rotate the camera to the front and then rotate it back as rear, right?
When you rotate it at the first time did a pop up message appears on the screen saying "When the preview display wrong , you should touch the switch icon for the correct preview!" ?
This appears every time you are rotating the camera on both ways, even if there is such an icon on the stock app!
If you are not seeing this message probably it means that the app does not "understand" if you are rotating the camera or not.
To me it looks like a software problem as long as it works at the beginning, but you can try a different camera app by pressing the switch camera icon to see its behaviour. If it will work ok there i should suggest to clear the stock camera caches and data.

yes. when i switch on the phone the camera is ok. when i rotate to the selfie position the image rotate correctly (I can see my face correctly). when i rotate the camera back, the image doesn't "follow". it's like it remains in selfie mode.
I don't receive any message from the phone and I don't have any switch icon in the stock camera app
the camera understand the rotation, but only the first time!
I already tried with google camera app but i remember i didn't find the rotate switch, but i don't remember exactly. I'm going to retry
thanks for your help

I'm thinking about sending it back to the seller in china...

The last and least you can do is to factory reset it and (or) reflash it.
Also check if the fast boot is enable and disable it. It is responsible for many strange problems.
As long as it rotates the first time it is not look like a HW problem to me.

already reset and reflashed.
flashed also a new FW (rev. November 27th)
I disabled also fast boot
not a solution...
I tried also a different FW (from need rom) but obtained only black screen
I think it could be an HW issue. probably there are 2 triggers that sense the rotation in the 2 direction and one of the 2 is broken and doesn't catch the rotation back to the "normal" position
thanks anyway
any other idea?

Yes but if one of the sensors is not working why at the next reboot is back on its normal position?
Or maybe it doesn't check that sensor at boot and thinks that the camera is at normal position.
At this case could be a HW problem. As you said you already flash it, so I think you should contact your seller.
