..and password is forgotten..
Not my phone, but of course, a girl did this to her phone
Now, there is no CWM there.
How to reset it?
OK, found this:
Hopefully one of the ways she can use

She doesn't need CWM, just standard recovery. Does she have?
If it's a newer version of Android it likely will be very difficult to 'trick' it. A factory reset is possibly the only way. Let us know what ends up working for her.

And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

She is in Vancouver. Quite a few miles from me. The standard recovery is there, but I am 100% sure she won't be able to utilize it.
She is a well paid "mobile devices tester" BTW

Wow. Good job. Any openings?
Standard recovery can do factory reset as well. Surely she can hold 2 buttons at the same time and select a menu item.

if the phone is rooted. it is easy to unlock / bypass. most of the chinese software will do the trick. one click only to break the pass code.
i had tried on nexus 4. n my s7589
furthermore, yr phone does not lose any single data at all. except the passcode

You going to share the secret? It can be done via ADB if rooted. If you know of another way, post the method/software you used.

The method I was talking about is using sqlite3. Google sqlite unlock adb .

OK.
Since I never lock my phones, I never had a problem like this.
