Hi guys
I currently own an iOcean G7 and iNew i6000...I was wondering when the next batch of phablets with QHD screens, LTE, finger print scanner and stereo sound will appear. Anybody know of any?
I know of the Lenovo Vibe Z2 but having become accustomed to a 6.5" screen, I would find it difficult to move down to a 6" screen.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Wow. Just when I was thinking my 6" screen was big, I meet a guy who views it as a downgrade. I guess it's all about perspective. Ha!
Personally, I haven't seen any competitors that would make me jump from an iOcean G7. An octacore monster phablet with 2GB of RAM is no laughing matter and a tough competitor. In general, the trend I saw happen this year was Flagships first, budgets second, upgrades third. If I were a gambling man, I'd wager that you're already good and future-proofed for the next 6 months or so.

Hi
Absolutely, it is all about what you become accustomed to using and what you want to dispense with using (tablet/laptop).
If I settle for a 6" based screen, these are my options:
Lenovo Vibe Z2 (QHD, 3GB, LTE) - not available yet
Motorola Shamu (QHD, 3GB, LTE) - not available yet
Coolpad Grand 5 (QHD, 3GB, LTE) - not available yet
Huawei Ascend Mate 7 (FHD, 3GB, LTE) - available
LG G Pro 3 - (unknown specs) - not available until next year
What do you guys think?

My iOcean G7 is for sale, if anyone is interested. Mint condition:

I was hoping a tech-head would chime-in here with their gadget opinions.
I have to admit, ALL of the products you have listed look unbelievably awesome. Prior to reading your post I'd never considered upgrading. After staring too long at the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, I'm starting to get some serious device-envy.

I agree, the Ascend Mate 7 appears to be a very capable phablet. My only concern is the screen...at 6" it would be just about acceptable...however, some space is taken by the on screen buttons. I suspect they can be 'swiped off' like the Huawei Honor X1 (which I previously owned), but constantly swiping to gain the extra space can become tedious.
Also, the screen is 'only' FHD and not QHD. I understand that the difference appears negligible to the naked eye but if you are upgrading your existing FHD phablet...why not switch to one that boasts a full QHD?...particularly with such large screen to display its brilliance...

I have to agree. If it were me, I'd wait it out until a competitor or two came to market just so you could see the difference. Not just in display, but in battery life, software, support, pricing, etc. Competition is always a good thing.
In regards to the swiping-buttons, there was an Xposed Module which I believe later turned into an app that auto-swiped the buttons away if I remember correctly.
Update: It's called "Ultimate Dynamic Navbar"

I fear my patience can be contained only until the Nexus phablet appears...if it boasts all the specifications reported to date, I strongly suspect it will be my next purchase. I for one am looking forward to a pure Google device - with proper multi window support - in order to benefit from the prompt updates and huge user support...something I have missed owning the Chinese phablets.

Can't say I blame you. The rumors of the next Nexus are indeed alluring.

Front facing stereo speakers
Fast charging technology
Snapdragon 805
My choice has been made for me...despite the Lenovo Vibe Pro making an appearance for a mere £530 dollars!
However, the Google connection takes precdence for me.
