Hey guys,
i have a question.
My phone is a THL T200.
I want dual boot for it (http://www.chinaphonearena.com/forum/Thread-Tutorial-How-to-setup-dual-boot-on-MTK), does this work for my phone?
And if it is working do you know some ROM's for my phone?
Maybe also Firefox OS[-->does this working on my phone?( [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register])] or something else not necessarily Android
Thanks
Best Regards
Emare

Unfortunately, Mediatek users are not able to get nor Firefox OS, nor Ubuntu Touch. So you can just install some modified stock roms (maybe ports from other mediatek devices), but that's it. But maybe THL will release KitKat soon as I noticed that a few of chinese brands already released KitKat for their devices

We might have to ask @vampirefo for his expertise on this matter. I don't see any terribly interesting T200 ROMs on NeedROM, so I'm not sure what you'd dual-boot with but it'd be really awesome if you laid the groundwork for all future T200 users!

@WuddaWaste,
I don't promise, but I will probably might do some porting for THL T200C. But firstly it must arrive. But tbh, porting on mediatek is not really hard. All you need is to find rom from similar device (in T200C case - any 720p, mt6592 device) and then just copy over some files.

I have a Thl T200 not a THL T200C and I think there is a difference or? Because my THL T200 has 1080p and mt6592

You are absolutely right. But there are some roms for t200 i guess. But as i have said, it is not worth tryingbas you won't be able to install any other os apart android.

I had been porting a lot of roms to a lot of phones,
540, 720, 1080
I don't really think that the resolution will really effect the rom.
I had ported a 720 to 1080 phone, or 720 to 540 phone,
and I don't have to do a special trick to get it working.
when I choose to port the rom. I see the cpu, 6572,6582,6589.........
I had never ported a Lewa rom and MiUi rom before. I had tried before, but could not succeed, then I gave up, since I don't really like Lewa n MIUI. so I did not try again

I also porter quite a few roms and resolution does matter when the framework is different. Sorry for misunderstanding ;)

Firefox OS is only working on this special ZTE phone, or?
And I have an instruction for building a rom. ( [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] (its in german because im from germany ;)). They use following kitchen ( [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]), do you think i can use this kitchen too, because Mt9592 isnt listed but other MT are listed
Thanks

Firefox OS is actually not ported to any oter devices, but if you want to check out firefox os i know a method (Iwill explain it in german because I can only explain it in german).
You will find Custom-Roms at [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]. I recommend the Cyanogenmod. Flash it via the recovery (you will find recoverys at needrom.com too). Flash them with the mobileuncle app (you need a rooted device. if your device is not rooted yet, do it with framaroot). Then tap on Boot into recovery or restard recovery. This will take you phone into recovery mode. Now every recovery has a install zip option. Put the image of the custom rom on your external sdcard, tap on install zip and select the image. After the installation is done, tap on reboot. Now, if you selected Cyanogenmod as custom rom, there is an app called Xposed Installer on it. Update it (under modules) and install the Xposed Framework. Now, if its not already installed, activate and open busybox. With this, you can mod EVERYTHING on your rom very easily.
Hope I helped, if you have questions, just ask them
