Anything that encases the phone and flips open is a flip case. I think the type Maine is talking about, is the type where the phone will lock or snap into place, or the back will actually be made to replace your phone's back casing. .

Pretty much so.

One could call the "original" i6000 case mentioned in the parakey post a flip case. Or purse-friendly. Or whatever.
