Try flashing the 3G fix from and/or putting the sim card in the other sim slot.
Also double check that your provider really is on the 2100 band and not on another one. 2100mhz is a relatively high frequency, that means that the signal won't reach very far and is most likely to be used in crowded places like cities and such.
