If you have some problem booting into recovery, then do it from Android.
1. Boot into Android
2. Make sure you have adb drivers installed. PDAnet or one of the driver packs from the tools sub-forum.
3. Install universal adb commands on PC (you can try this auto-installer for steps 2&3: )
4. Turn on developer mode (tap "build" 7x in settings / about phone) on phone
5. Allow USB debugging in developer mode on phone
6. Open command window on PC (shift-right click in any window and select "open command"
7. Attach phone
8. Pay attention and allow any permission requests on your phone
9. Type "adb reboot recovery"
