i do not have any id numbers on the back of the LCD.
Strange thing is that it perfectly fits, and connects. it should somehow work. I was wondering if there is a way to find out what version of LCD i have so i could do some more googleing. Is there a program that i could install to retrieve the lcd version number or something?
thanks!
No ID of any kind on the backs of either LCD screen (original and new)?
Assuming no software changes were made and you simply swapped out one screen for an exact duplicate, it should work. 100%
So, you are in a quandary. Can you find out what version of LCD you have? Well, I suppose you could, but you will need the pinouts of your screen and an adapter to use a laptop OR connect your phone to a computer via USB and see what you can get out of it.
I suppose the bigger question is: Are you positive that whatever caused the LCD screen to crack did not damage anything else that would prevent the operation of the screen?
In your position, I would immediately return the current LCD screen for whatever refund I could get and call it a day. If you REALLY love this device, I suppose you could go to another supplier and purchase the same replacement LCD. If it works, great, if not, you will have to return it again.
If you return your current LCD to your current supplier stating that it is not functioning (which is entirely possible), they may just send you another one if you return yours. On the downside, if it doesn't work, you are stuck.
Sorry.
