Thanks so much for this! I was able to get CWM installed, and then root, on my Cubot X9 (none of the simple rooting apps worked). I somehow screwed up flashing my recovery the first time (I think it was a driver issue), and the X9 doesn't have a removable battery so I had to wait for the battery to die before I could try again. Oh, and the CWM created by this method doesn't seem to be able to mount the internal SD card on my Cubot X9, but it *could* mount my external SD card, so I was able to just use that to copy over SuperSU. Once I was rooted, I was able to get TWRP installed and it was smoooooth sailing. The only thing is, I somehow wiped my IMEI settings and didn't have an NVRAM backup. Going to try the MTK Droid Toolkit method when I get home, as Mobile Uncle doesn't work.
