Since AT&T uses the 850 and 1900 Mhz bands for 3g you won't get any mobile broadband connection with these devices..
T-Mobile seems to be using the 2100 Mhz band ([Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]), which is supported.
Give T-Mobile a try, maybe it'll work.

i will see what t-mobile has to offer , what the coverage is and what not.
if not i will send back and buy one under the star brand.
Star branded phones are also MT6589 devices. So if the devices that you have right now do not work with 3G, the Star devices won't either.
