It would be quite difficult to determine your phone's actual identity/ fingerprint. Even though you do find out what its name is, it is highly doubtful there are custom ROMs for it.
The best info you can get about it will come from MTK Droid Tools. Build number, LCD driver, baseband, etc.
If you intend to flash a ROM to it, I recommend you first make a backup of your current ROM. It will be very difficult to find a copy of it especially since you are not sure what phone you really have.
