Hmm, that's a shame. But if you are still willing to try to fix the problem, here goes.
Check if the partitions of your original ROM and the update you flashed are the same. You can inspect it in the scatter files (from your backup and the accompanying scatter file of the updated ROM)
Check start addresses and partition sizes, specifically NVRAM and Secro partitions.
