Great guide and thanks for the effort in producing it.
It works perfectly.
I prefer to use Mtkdroidtools v2.4.3 because it has the option to backup userdata and cache, which makes it a full ROM backup.
The problem comes when attempting to restore using sptools.
The preloader is always missing in the list of entries after loading the scatter file and depending on what version of sptools I have tried, uboot can also be missing.
Without the preloader is seems impossible to restore back to the phone.
I did find a solution with one ROM and that was to copy the original preloader bin file from the original ROM flashed into the !Files_to_FlashTool folder.
This method worked with one custom ROM that I was testing but using the same methodology with another, it soft bricked the phone.
So it seems to me, unless am I missing something that the preloader is vital to the restore but mtkdroidtools is not able to backup/create the appropriate preloader file for a successful restore.
