You know, even though the bulk of this thread is kinda off topic it's really nice to see so many people so into these kinds of phones. Props to everyone!
I went from a 2GB phone to a 1GB phone and back to 2GB. The RAM difference was noticeable but not a showstopper. The biggest difference I noticed was a lag in launching SwiftKey in SMS and a lag in the first few words I typed. It was annoying, but mostly because I'm hypercommunicative with messaging. If that isn't an issue for your usage, then it'd obviously take a lower priority.
For strictly selfish reasons, I would *like* for everyone to have the same phone I have. More momentum means more support. But I'll never recommend a device based on that criteria.
If I could pay 20 bucks to upgrade my phone to kitkat, I would in a heartbeat. I understand that perk. If I could be paid 20 bucks to get an upgrade to kitkat, but have to sacrifice my RAM and screen size... I would be pretty hesitant. I strongly value those things.
How do you plan on using your phone? Does waiting an extra half a second between tab switching and such bother you that much? Do you like big screens or dislike them? How bad do you currently need a phone?
