As far as I know, you will need to be rooted. Bert recommends 'Density Changer' [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

Hi, i tryed to change my dpi to 320 and phone rebooted and i got stuck in boot loop. I can get intro Android system recovery but can't do anything from there (tryed wipe data/factory reset)

My phone is rooted but I don't have CWM and I don't know how to use SP tools to flash back some other firmware. Could anyone help me with any kind of advice? Thank you.

p.s. the application I tryed to change dpi with is this : LCD Density Modder. on their site they said if something gets wrong i could try to edit build.prop. Does anyone know anything about this build.prop and how could i restore it?

I'm pretty sure the phone need to be on for you to read the files on the phone, so as far as editing build.prop to fix your problem, I think you're SOL.

Sounds to me like you need to use SP flash tools to flash a rom to your phone, or at the very least flash CWM onto the phone so you can use it to factory reset or flash a rom that way.

Flash tools is easy if you have the drivers installed correctly (which is always my problem). This thread should help you with the driver: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] and if you need some help with flash tools itself, let me know.

Well, every now and then someone gets attacked by his own stupidity and he tries something he knows it's gonna get him into the trouble  p.s. I did try that chinese denisty changer also (i had Wednesday, 07.08. version of software) but after restart dpi was the same Sad

Drivers...you gotta love them. Big Grin I believe I need to backup my laptop and reinstall x86 windows because both laptop and desktop pc have 64 bit windows (on 64 bit W8 you can't manually assign drivers that are not digitally signed -.-) Sad

p.s. i would be more than grateful if you could post short tutorial on how to use sp flash tool to get CWM to my iNew i6000 and since i'm in deep sh*thole (a.k.a. new firmware needed) then please suggest me what firmware is currently most fluid ("best") for i6000 (i have 1/16 version if that affects decision somehow).

I guess that firstly i need to get computer and phone to communicate correctly, then i should download CWM recovery.img, sp FT and usb drivers, and then flashing part Smiling But what scatter file should I use? is it ok to use for example scatter file of a i6000 ROM (what does scatter file do)?

I believe that after I persuade phone to work with my computer that it shouldn't be that hard to put CWM and new ROM afterwards.

You should be able to install [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] with Windows 8 64 no problem. See here for troubleshooting [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] . You shouldn't have to manually assign. PDA Net software should do all the work.

[Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register], it's the newest official update for the Firefly v65. Good for our iNew i6000 both 1g and 2g versions. It comes with the scatter file you will need.

You'll find [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]

Good luck. Like I said, flash tools is the easy part... just get that driver installed.

It seems the drivers are major problem. Sad I did all the necessary steps to disable driver authentication. I connected my phone (automatically disconnected after 2 sec) and while it was connected I installed preloader drivers. Now when I reconnect my phone it shows in device manager in Ports (COM & LPT) MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port but it still disconnects after 2 seconds even with opened SP flash tool (run as admin) Sad

Any other suggestion? I tried with and without battery (phone of course off whole time (when battery is inserted it changes to that charging battery state)) and with original usb cable and nokia micro usb cable. SP FLash tool is SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119 version and usb drivers are those previously mentioned above.

Should I try to install w7 or xp on my computer and try again? Currently i have W8 PRO x64 (original if that matters for anything)

I get to 8. step but in 9th step i connect my phone and I can see it under ports section in device manager but it disconnects after few seconds even when i had all the drivers and I manually assigned drivers to mt65xx preloader device when it was firstly connected
