You're asking about how to use your GPS? If you're having problems, you can start here:
[Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register] to learn about how to get it up and running as quick as possible.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth

You might need a software to run GPS such as Sygic.
highly recommended.
It might take a while if you are testing your GPS indoor.
I use THL W7S and when indoor (2 storey building) it couldn't locate the gps signal but once I go outdoor then it is okay.

I'd same problem with my MTK 6577. I think that i've found solution today. I've change NetLoc Service and Geocoder Service in Mobile Uncle MTK (You can find it in google play)
Engineer Mode -> Location -> NetLoc Service set MediaTek network location
-> Geocoder Service set MediaTek geocoder
I haven't tested this solution I don't know anything about possible side effects. But after this change i get fix in 10 s.
Givebeat solutions from link u gave, didn't helped at all in my case.
Sorry for my terrible English...
