New multilanguage ROM from INNOS

These pages are full of ROM updates but no indication of which PC software is required to flash them, tried most of them using flasboot update but none will go flashboot claims about lack of Android strings.

I have TWRP installed but again using install it barfs about ZIP verification and fails.

A little explanation of some of these issues would be much appreciated.
I have some knowledge but not as much as I would like so go easy on me :-)

2) Start TWRP
3) If you want you can back up your current ROM to your SD card
4) Do a system wipe (standard) so you do not wipe any of your data.
5) Install the ROM.

If you are having problems, make sure the new ROM is not corrupted, if in doubt take your SD card out and copy the new ROM to it whilst not in the phone.

I have installed most of the Chinese versions ROM in the past and have had no problems installing any.

I am currently waiting on the Android 6 version, that should become available on the above link soon (should have been last Friday, as it is for free you can not complain).

Martin

I really hope you get your Android 6, but they've been saying this for 6 months. It's nothing more than a scam to keep selling devices. Who knows, maybe it will come someday, but the dates are complete lies to keep the phone selling.

I hope it will come, but if it is not, we can not complain too much as the current ROM was only published in August this year.

I agree. For me, I don't care about Android 6 anyways.

Thanks for that Martin but it leaves me with another question, the Link takes me to the Innos sight and they say that to install it use System Update. Now System Update is not available on my phone so is TWRP completely standalone or does it need access to System Update? Having tried various othere ROMS which thanks to the first reply I can now identify as requiring System Update and they would not go using TWRP I am a bit doubtful. I need to be sure because I am running out of battery....Confused

Thankyou for the link, the site being in Russian did throw me for a minute or two but GoogLe Translator worked well enough. Now that site lists the ROMS WITH the installation tool required very helpful, however non of them recommend TWRP apart from GAPPS?. I have tried a few with TWRP and they do not load.
Now the only problem is it looks like I am going to have to "bite the QFIL bullet" and resurrect a Windows PC to put QFIL on it I hate Windows!

Would be interested if there is an explanation of why TWRP doesn't work.

has the following message

E:Unable to find partition size for 'abootbak'
Updating partition details ........ (WTF is that about??/)
then some stuff about MD5 (no MD5 file)

then

E:Zip signature verification failed: 1
Error flashing zip da de da......

then

E:Unable to mount storage.,
Would be interested to know what it's telling me apart from the computer equivalent of " the finger"

Same here, but I still have issues with random reboots, but these are mainly happening when I have a GPS enabled program active, like Orux Maps or CoPilot, obviously the phone has issues sharing the GPS, I am hoping that android 6 fixes this issue.

Firstly, If you are on the stock CN ROM, you can only update using CN ROM version (up to v3.4).

Those versions mentioned in the Innos website (innos.com) belonged to the EU version (up to v2.6)

Try not to get confused between these two. You cannot update from CN rom to EU rom using SD card or System Update function.

There is only 1 way by using QFIL to do so if you want to switch between CN and EU ROMs. Steps already provided in the first post by @stevejc

There are 2 main flashing methods for this phone. Flash from SD card and QFIL (windows)

For SD card, download the ROMs for SD installations (Normally .Zip files)
For QFIL, download the ROMs for QFIL installation (Normally .tar files)

I'm afraid the only way to for you to update is to use QFIL first.
It could be that you are using the wrong ROMs to update. E.g ( Using EU ROM v2.6 to update CN ROMs without flashing the v.2.2/2.3 abroad first.)
Reply
I would like to point out that I use TWRP from my PC.
I run a TWRP file from my PC whilst the phone is connected to it in boot loader mode.
The TWRP file makes a connection to the phone and the TWRP logo comes up.
I can now unplug from the PC and back up the ROM to the SD card, wipe the internal memory, install a previous backup, install from a zip on the SD card.
Using this I made the last change from the Chinese 3.4 ROM to the EU 2.6 ROM without any problems.

Martin
