[How-To] HOMTOM HT3 PRO - Xposed Framework & GEL

WARNING :

Before installing Xposed Framework, be sure that the phone meet the following requirements :

1) TWRP custom recovery installed
2) Rooted

If not ... please follow carefully all the steps at the next link :

Xposed Framework - STEPS :

1) ABOVE ALL download the "HOM_XPO.rar" from one of the two links :

2) Unrar "HOM_XPO.rar".
3) Copy "xposed-v85-sdk22-arm64.zip" and "XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk".
4) Paste them into your microSD.
I have created a folder named "XPOSED" into my microSD, then I have pasted the 2 files inside it.
5) Reboot your phone into TWRP recovery.
6) Install xposed zip. Please see the next screenshot :



7) When installation completed ... reboot in normal mode.
8) Install 3.0 alpha4 apk. You should see like in the next screenshot :



9) DO NOT TAP "Soft reboot" or "Reboot".

As from this moment, you will be able to install all the modules of Xposed Module Repository.


Xposed GEL Settings - Why just this module ?

There are 2 good reasons to install GEL :

1) Unfortunately there is no way to hide Google Search bar from the homescreen of HOMTOM.
A custom launcher (Apex Launcher & Nova Launcher are the most known) is out of the question.
GEL module allows you to hide Google Search bar easily.

2) The default launcher do not let you to tweak & mod it.
GEL module allows you to make easily customizable the default launcher with many features.

The topic of this tutorial will be about the basic tweakings.
I will leave to you the task to find out all the features.
The purchase of the Premium version will unlock more features.

STEPS :

1) Tap on Xposed Installer to open it.
2) Tap on Download, write "xposed gel", tab Versions and tap on Download.

3) Return to the main menu of Xposed Installer and tap on Modules.
Fundamental : Check mark on the square (up right) and reboot the phone.
Please see the next screenshot :



4) Tap on GEL and follow the screenshots above.
On "I need your support", "ok"-"go premium"-"donate" at your discretion :

MOD App Drawer - HOW TO

In the following screenshots I will show you 2 things :

1) How to change the horizontal & vertical grid size.
2) How to change the Icon size.

STEPS :

1) Open GEL, then follow the screenshots above.



I recommend you NOT to exceed the number of horizontal/vertical grid size.

2) Then enable changes to icons and tap Icon size to choose the new size.



Yes, it does looks most unpleasant

After many attempts, I have found the right balance between appearance & functionality.
In my view, 90 seems to be a good compromise.



NOW you can see the grid size & the icon size BEFORE and AFTER the modifications :

I hid bar google search. But at this place you can't drop or shortcuts or widgets.

Any suggestions?

I used Nova Launcher. Many more options than Xposed GEL
