I am mostly interested in basic functions working the best they can: Camera, dialer, radio (does it have the program?) google aps etc. And the snoothest/lighter it is the better. Which one would you recommend?
Won't it update over my current setup? I have 2.3_abroad.
I could just try of course and then restore, I already made a nandroid backup with temp TWRP.
Thanks
I have previously 2.4 (2.3_abroad). I read that someone try to flash this new rom and have problem, so I have backed up my apps with titanium backup and install old v2.2 and then apply this update via recovery.
Yes, camera is working and it has radio app with stereo working. (not in V2.4)
Personally I have some problem with 2.4 dialer that refuses some new numbers.
With this one, no problem.
If you want I can try to add greek translations from old 5.1.1 V1.0 to this rom.
Not all strings will be translated but it's a beginning.

Hi, I installed it and currently testing it. Installation went smoothly, no problems at all, just rebooted and installed. At first it was dysfunctional and I could not access the applications. Did a factory reset, all is fine now.
A very different rom indeed! Pretty basic, but I would say it has all that is needed.
The radio does have stereo. It is obviously a different/newer app version. I suppose one can we import/ export this version to other rom if needed. The 2.3_abroad radio version looses stereo and you have to reset it in settings.
Personally I prefer English language because the translation is confusing sometimes. It would be nice to have Greek in order for the system to use it if necessary (for some programs). And for other people, of course. I wanted greek mostly for the quick search function in the previous dialer (only used EN), it could not search in my language. But this one do not have a quick search...
Is it my idea or this rom has more functions than 2.3_abroad?
Kinda difficult to get used to the new button arrangement... And I miss the extra functions the pressing of the menu button. Can we change this?

You can do what you want, see my screenshot in attachement.
You can add action to your button with Gravity Box, add a menu button too like me
also I'm using All in One gesture Application, that can go in full screen mode when I want.
Oh, yes, thanks, I will try that. Have to re-root it first... Can you set a pop up window with actions when pressing menu button like 2.3_abroad?
Hmm, bug, no alarm is ringing if the mobile is turned of. It opens but does not ring...
Did bother me also in 2.3, thought I would get rid of this, unfortunately the bug remains... The alarm is different, perhaps it has to do with something else. How can I put it in protected apps?

Alarms is working when screen is off, I have done this two weeks ago.
But you need to put an alarm almost thirty minutes after screen is off.
My first test was 7 minutes : alarm not ringing.
But with 30 minutes it's working.
For the menu, an option in gravity box can add a new button.
And I see that with that you launch a menu allowing to define to 12 apps !
function "Application Launcher" in gravity box
I have tried :
When you click on this new button, a popup window is showed, you can add 12 apps or shortcut to apps or activities like direct shotcut for actions in settings like wifi networks or VPN

I didn't quite understand what you mean.
I try with phone shut off. It opens and then no alarm rings! With previous firmware 2.3 I had an everyday alarm set to wake up for work and 1 day it rang the other it didn't! Luckily I had a second alarm set.
Do you mean to say there is a pattern for it to function? I don't see how it affects it.
Just noticed: After the phone wakes up for the alarm to ring, it doesn't, and then you go to check and the alarm is now set for the next day (tommorw same time) although it was an one time alarm. What the heck?

Will try to see...
Nice! does gravity box module affects lagging in any way? I remember in an older tablet it produced some nasty lagging...

What I mean is that :
For example, it's 3:30 PM when you start your test. (power off your phone)
You need to set at least the alarm thirty minutes after, for example at 4 PM.
It should work.
I don't use it in real life just do the test one time !

Yes I got you now. You have a point. It automatically transfers the alarm for the next day if set too close, it makes sense what you say.
Just tried 10 minutes. It works! It has to be about 10 min or more. I will test it more and report. Hopefully the alarm will function properly. It was useless before. And the radio wasn't any good either. Now it is fine.
This rom is very good! The more I use it the more I like it over the previous one. The default launcher is preferable, of course, it has lagg free ap drawer. With previous rom you get lagging by using nova or any other launcher with app drawer.
If I understood correctly, you did manage to make the virtual buttons hide like in 2.4?
Also, if you could assign next previous song buttons to pop up by pressing menu button this would be the coolest!!
(2016-04-29, 22:26)stevejc Wrote: With gravity box, you can use the volume button (long touch) to go to the next or previous song when the screen is off.
And for the buttons, there are two activities of the music player : next song and previous song : so you can add to the menu !
Will definetely try that! Let me ask you something else: With 2.4 you had the radio bug (no stereo). Did you notice other bugs that gt fixed with this version?
I keep testing the alarm. It works fine! Never failed above 7 minutes till now.
