I tried to install CWM recovery on my MTK8382 tablet (which is really having MTK6582 chipset under the hood) and have it bricked instead.
I would like to at least have recovery working again, I probably can go from there by myself. Thanks in advance for the help!!
I used SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1532 to create IMG file and MTK Droid Root & Tools to create a custom CWM Recovery.
Then I tried to flash it onto the phone. Firstly I got "PMT changed for the ROM; it must be downloaded" error, but then I did a format (whole flash except bootloader).
It finished without errors and than I was able to flash recovery which also completed successfully.
From that point I am unable to boot tablet, even in recovery mode (which was previously done by pressing vol- button and power button simultaneously).
I tried to undo this by flashing original recovery, but the tablet stayed dead. I did several other attempts to fix things
but to no avail (I never flashed a new preloader though).
At some point I was not no longer able to flash anything. I thought it might be the problem with preloader drivers. So I uninstalled
all drivers related to MTK6582 (verified in USBDeview). Then opened Device Manager and connected tablet to PC, holding vol-.
Previously it made "Ports" section in Device Manager appear temporarily which in turn allowed to install VCOM preloader drivers.
But now it does not appear there.
The device got recognized by windows though and system installs default drivers (USBDeview shows 'MT65xx Android Phone' device)
I do have original scatter files and partial original ROM backup (up to recovery partition, including).
It there any chance of unbricking the device?
Many thanks again.
