I'm trying to do a backup but I receive this error:

preloader_and_dsp - ERROR: Zero file, no space left on device

i fave this space free in my smartphone (Free space: system- 13.7M; data- 179.8M; E:\ 112798M) elephone P7 mini with mt6582

anyone know what is the problem?

Hi, Ethon. Make sure you do have a lot of storage on your phone. If not, put in an SD card and set your default storage to SD on your phone, then try again.

please i have been trying to backup my MTK device (MTK6592), the process started and its almost 2hours its still backing up, i disconnected and started again but same taking longer time please advice what to do

I DID THE BACKUP AND TRIED TO PREPARE BLOCKS FOR FLASH TOOL.
PRESSED THE MD5 AS YOU MENTIONED BUT NOTHING HAPPENS.
THE GREEN BAR DOES NOT START TO FILL UP.
LEFT IT FOR QUITE A WHILE.
THE TABLET CUBE TALK8 U27GT-C8 THAT I AM TRYING TO CREATE A CWM RECOVERY TOOL FOR HAS MTK8392 PROCESSOR (ACCORDING TO CUBE)
BUT THE MTK ANDROID TOOLS INDICATES THAT IT IS FAKE AND THE ACTUAL PROCESSOR IS MTK6592. THEREFORE I AM USING THE CORRECT TOOL(???...)
FOR THE JOB?
WHAT IS WRONG PLS ADVICE

hi, are you guys using the v2.5.3? Did you install busy box? Does Droid tools say you have root access? Does it show any error on the right hand pane?

need help here. i have a new device MT6592M, with Android 5.1 out-of-box. its a full lollipop rom and not just an sdcard or ota update since it has the FRP partition. anyways i created the scatterfile form mtkdroidtools. used it for reference to make "readback" of rom from spflashtool. readback went fine and created ROM_0 file. i processed it in mtkdroidtools' "process ROM_" method it extracts the partitions, BUT its missing preloader.bin-it is not created and i don't see error.

i rooted my device, checked with root checher to see if properly rooted it its OK. connected it to PC, run mtkdroidtool and went to BACKUP and it gives "zero file" error as it processed preloader_and_dsp and then only do backup of nvram and system folder, no other images. i made sure that phone storage has enough space and sdcard kas 12GB free.

my problem here is the backup of preloader.bin. i tried to manually dump using spflashtool the preloader.bin using its start and end end address but it need trimming since it has more data at its header and it starts with EMMC_BOOT. any other ways i can create or make backup of preloader.bin?

As you can see from the attached, the error I keep getting is the 4032. I've tried flashing different ROM's, using different versions of SP flash tool (tried 1516, 1532 and 1548) but the error I keep getting is the same. From the screenshot I am trying 'Download Only', but I've also tried 'Firmware Upgrade' and 'Format All + Download'.

I've tried on 2 different computers - both running Win7. I've installed the drivers many times (from various different zip/exe files), by following the uninstall through USBDeview and reinstalling (also tried adding legacy hardware on Device Manager). My PC recognises the phone as a MTK USB Port (and not as Preloader USB VCOM or DA USB as I've seen in other situations - could this be the issue?)

Once plugged to USB, if I don't do anything it automatically connects and disconnects, non-stop (keep hearing the connect/disconnect sound on Windows).

Let me know if you have any ideas for this!
