It's the latest Kingroot apk. Should work with most KitKat and last generation SOC. No PC required.

Is there any safe custom recovey for the device around and what's the best way
to flash/inject it...

I've looked and seen that there are different methods around.

just to let you know:

1. I flashed the cwm I found on needrom.com through Mobileuncle.
2. I removed KingUser SU and replace with SuperSU by using W0lfdroid's scripts.

Have fun with your THL 4000!
