I even tried to change partition layout (2.5GB data partition), but the phone tried to restore the partitions and didn't boot anymore. I will investigate further.
Regarding Link2SD: you're right, it doesn't work for every app. You must not move libraries to 2nd partition, only the app. Most apps will work this way.
Dialer works normal in KitKat ROM (and I tried out many different ROMs, too). Give it a try and wipe cache and dalvik cache. Did you deodex your apps?

I solved yesterday night.
I called for help on an italian forum, a guy helped me sending me an update.zip. Before flashing, i did a nandroid (and thank god I did).
Flashed the update.zip, worse than before.
SO i restored my backup and after that, I can magically call now...
Misteries of Android!
Bythe way I just wanted to share some screehshots of my phone
Boot: Customized all with MPAI original logo, second screen with xperia logo and animation taken from Xperia with android L
Charge when off: added Toothless face ahaha, and changed the number's font.
Lockscreen: tweaked with Gravitybox, increased transparency, changed wallpaper.
Screens: Changed battery icon with gravitybox, added date and day of the week next to clock.
Added icon to close all open app like in Android 4.4 and ram usage on top.
Other Tweaks: I used gravity box to make the home button/back/menu to blink when you receive a notification, so even if you don't have a led light, you won't miss it now!
I'm so happy of this phone! I also had some issues when flashing some roms because front camera was not working, so I had to learn how to change sensor settings with SP Multi-Port Download Tool. After that everything is just fine. Also GPS if amazing after some tweaking. Love it Love it Love it!
For this 1st year I just ordered this: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
PS: I just remembered why I also gave up on ANdroid 4.4, the alarm clock was never ringing.

Hello.
You can ask to anandasy.com (my contact is " [email protected]")
The screen of 809T cost 58 USD. The shipping fee via SZDHL is just as one one phone price is 28 USD.
changing the screen is rather simple.

I came back to this phone too, even if the screen got broken (I bought a new screen, even if it's almost 50% of the phone price !!)
During this time, I bought it's little brother (mini mp809t), but this one is not as pleasant as the 809t :-)
Can you give me information concerning the GPS fix ?
And the way to change the driver of the front camera using SP Multi-port Download tool ? Each time I tried this soft, I got an error "3.1344 is not a valid floating point" (very strange !)
What version did you used ? I tried v3.1344.00.00-TestVersion-2 and v3.1344.00.00-TestVersion-6
did you tried to change the recovery menu ? I found (and flash) a full touch recovery menu (I can get the website where I got it ...)

Turn off GPS.
Open Root Explorer, set system to "read/write" and navigate to /system/build.prop, open it with the text editor
Add this line after the last line starting with "Dalvik"
Code: dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:fast
Make sure the file looks something alike the image below, save and exit
Now, always with Root Explorer, navigate to /data/misc/ and delete the file “mtkgps.dat” (make a backup of the file... you never know...)
Restart your phone, this way the file mtkgps.dat will be created from scratch.
Now open MT GPS EPO Fix, download the EPO file, then go to GPS settings and make sure everything is enabled (yes you can turn your GPS on now)
Now open Faster GPS and select the server as close as possible to your area.
Run MobileUncle MTK Tools, go to Engineer Mode – Engineer Mode ( MTK ) – Location and in the tab search for Location Based Service. Make sure that in the AGPS section "Enable AGPS" is checked.
Always in Location, go to YGPS; look for "INFORMATION" and press, with like 3 seconds delay between one and the other “hot”,then “full” then “AGPS restart”.
Now go to an open area, where nothing is between you and the sky and open GPS Test, and let the phone get his first gps lock. IN the beginning there will be a yellow dot (that means that GPS hardware is working), after a while you will see "XXX in view", meaning that the GPS found some satellites, but didn't hook them yet. When you'll see some bars moving up and down, that means we are close to the fix. When the dot will be green, your first GPS Lock will be done.
I tested this on at least 4 MTK phones, all worked. The time for the GPS to hook a satellite is variable tho, can take less than a minute and up to 8 minutes... be patient!
SmartPhone multi-port Download Tool
Once again, NANDROID before starting, thanks!
Download: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Get a copy of your ROM where scatter and LK.BIN (uboot) are included.
Dial *#*#116 #*# and take note of your :
LCD (Display)
Main camera sensor (rear camera)
Sub camera sensor (front camera)
Beware that if the front camera is not working, the front camera sensor will display the wrong driver.
Now, to fix the floating point value, you need to temporarly change some region settings in Windows
1. Select Start / Settings / Control Panel / Regional and Language Options
2. Click the Customize button.
3. Change the Decimal symbol to . and the separator with ,
4. Save the changes made
Now launch SPMDT, if it's the first time you open it, it may ask you to chose the Download Agent and the Scatter Agent, you will find them in the program folder named MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin and MTK_DATABASE.mdb
Open the scatter file of your ROM, then click this button:
Then change the sub camera sensor to ov5648_mipi (for MTK 6582 quad-core) and save.
CLose the program windows and click "Yes". This will save your new settings into the LK.BIN file of your rom (you can check by looking at the "last modified" time and date)
Now use the new scatter and LK.BIN with SP-Flash Tool and flash them on your device. Done!
Custom Recovery (Carliv and CWM)
You can flash Carliv Touch Recovery 2.7 with SP- FLash tool
Download: [Only registered and activated users can see links Click here to register]
Or make your own CWM with MTK Droid Tols, in the second tab, click on Boot & Recovery, it will ask you to choose your boot.img and recovery.img to patch.
Follow the steps, the phone name is not relevant is just to identify the phone. When prompted, choose "Generate CWM" or something like that.
When done you can flash the patched boot and recovery to get your custom recovery.
-------
I hope that helped!

This method seems to improve the GPS accuracy ... tested on 809T & mini 809T.
Indeed, the 809T has a very good GPS, much more than the mini 809T.
I will now check the front camera ...

Yiipa ! I've got a new front camera ! Many thanks ... !

(This post was last modified: 2015-01-17, 16:51 by Yaelede.)
My 809t became one-year-old last week, so I decided to write a summary about its glorious operation.
More than a year ago, after getting bored of my first Chinese phone's weaknesses (a Doogee DG300 actually), I began to accurately search for a new, more reliable, more stable phone on the numerous Chinese webshops. My funds were rather limited (under 200$), but I wanted to find the possible best choice. It took rather a long time (as it usually does with people with relatively less money..), but finally I find a phone of a rather unknown brand, Mpai. The specs and features seemed surprisingly outstanding in its category, so I push the BUY button with a trembling finger.
And it proved to be one of the best decisions of my life..
What a glorious 12 months it was!
I haven't even experienced one single freezing, nor lagging, no misbehaving at all.
- Its display is just amazing, it is really an IPS display. I do not have the slightest scratch on its Gorilla glass after one year of heavy duty! And I haven't even put the screen protector on it, because I didn't have to! I'm using the phone with its very smart folding case, and it saved the phone from the damages completely.
- The camera is just amazing! I cannot say enough good about it, and it is true about the videos too.
- Its body is very elegant, it is still one of the slimmest phones on the market.
And so and on.
Why did I write all these? First of all, because I am REALLY and ABSOLUTELY satisfied with it, ergo it deserves it.
Secondly, just because I don't understand something, and I wanted to ask it here already. What am I talking about? Namely that it came to my mind a few months ago: with such an outstanding phone, where the hell Mpai disappeared?? It has no other new phones out, why? Does this company still exist?? If it doesn't, then it's a shame. Really.
I had another reason for this post too. Though I am really satisfied with my 809t (BTW it is a quad-core), unfortunately I have to begin to search for my next phone slowly, because I know, that it won't last forever.
Do you have guys a good recommendation for a phone of same or similar qualities and features?
What is really important for me?
- I absolutely love its smart folding case. I like it, because when I close the case, it locks the phone immediately. It sounds very simple, but it's really a useful feature. Do you guys know other phones with similar accessory?
- a good camera as also a must. It should make sharp, beautiful photos and videos, even in worse light conditions.
- price? Hmm.. It can be between 150-250.
I am looking forward to your recommendations.
Thank you.
