thanks for the info lookylooky..nice one indeed....this doesnt ship to india...any other alternatives u can suggest which are equally good and maybe slightly cheaper?

It doesn't need to be this model. That is just the one that I used. I paid about $75 for it. If you do an internet search for Bluetooth GPS receivers you should be able to find something. They will all work the same way.
