I find that hard to believe. Other MTK devices like MT6589 also have this date/time bug, so it's nothing specific to V3. You can try updating your firmware (if you're not on 1.0.3), as there were reports that fixes the problem. If that doesn't work, you can 100% fix it by installing Xposed framework and GravityBox module (search the forum for both).

Some have this bug, others do not. There's no strict rules under which conditions does it happen. I suspect it has something to do with the time region predefined by OS itself. Wild guesses and speculations...
I also heard that camera in 1.0.3 is less grainy and less sandy, but on the other hand, some say that touch focus no longer works (maybe they left auto-focus option at least?). But anyway, I think that generaly it's always good to have newest firmware, and I certainly plan to upgrade mine soon.
