Elephone G1 - alexalex - 2015-02-22
I received this phone today, and I have a strange problem, phone can receive calling but cannot make dial, I tried with 2 different sim and same, cannot dial.
I try with free network-operator number and on other phones (Lumia and iphone) with same sim used in G1 I can make dial.
Do you know if I can resolve this problem or I have to send back G1?

BTW I make some test with phone I used Qaudrant and Antutu 5.6.1
On quandrant test (point) is similar to Nexus 7 2013
Android is chinese versione 4.4.2 but it's a "pure" android, preinstalled app voicerecorder/calendar a file-explorer and google playstore no maps/gmail etc (if you want you can download), phone looks "fast" I did not try games but with social network application is good.
Space for app is little 0.9gb+1.7gb +microSD but I cannor move ap on microSD, another day I'll test camera.
PS: It's a 2-sim phone but only one is WCDMA, I cannot test if GSM works because in Japan no GSM only 3G and LTE.
I paid 56$ for that prize you can use also as a simple mp3 player ^_^

Size comparison, Lumia 520 (4" screen), G1 (4.5"), iPhone6 (4.7").
It's also a thin phone easy to handle.

This is a bummer. Sorry to hear about the problems.
Are you sure the phone supports all the frequencies required to make calls where you are? My first thought is that perhaps you're missing one.

Yes use WCDMA 2100 same here, on needrom I found another rom ending in V08, my rom was V04, I flashed needrom G1 ROM and now phone works well, fast connection to network and can make/receive calling.
Phone looks good on performance it's cheap but as always these chinese phone have "strange" rom sometimes; I like play with phone and generally I found a solution but normal people looking only for a cheap phone can have trouble if they receive a phone with a faulty rom.

Default GPS is off (strange), if you want use GPS (satellite) you need to use MTK engineering mode application, go in mtk setting -> location -> location based service -> gps and activate gps.
Once you activate gps fix is fast around 10-15 seconds.

I was able to install TWRP recovery using this metod:
With this phone you cannot enter recovery with volume button (or al least I was not able to do it) but you can enter recovery using Mobileuncle app.
